Upholstery produces original compositions for stage, film, and audio experiences, drawing inspiration from a diverse range of influences such as Portishead and Talking Heads. Their music, a fusion of cabaret and post-punk, aims to be both captivating and thought-provoking.
I was entrusted with creating the cover art for Upholstery's single "Set Up House" and its EP remix in May 2022. The design aimed to encapsulate the evocative mood inspired by key elements from the "Set Up House" music video, with a particular focus on integrating the symbolic couch and dollhouse imagery. The visual narrative was crafted to resonate with the essence of the song, which narrates the allure of a magnetic one-night stand. The cover art sought to capture the emotional depth and thematic nuances of the music, providing a compelling visual representation for listeners.
